Plane:
You can go to Alicante Airport (ALC). It is one to get to and everyone uses it.
Also, you can fly to Madrid or Barcelona and then get the train. Madrid - Murcia is 4 hrs, Barcelona - Murcia 6 hrs. It is normal to book seats in advance on Spanish trains as they get full and there are no standing passengers.
You can go to Malaga which has some of the cheapest flights, but then it's another 4 hours or so by bus to Murcia.
From Alicante airport you will have to find your own way to Murcia. There are several possibilities.
You can also go to Murcia Airport (MJV). You have a shuttle bus from MJV to Murcia Bus Station leaving at: 17:15, 20:15 and 21:30. You can check timetable and prices in:

Bus:
Catch a bus from the airport to Alicante. This will take you near Alicante bus station. Buses leave from the bus station for Murcia from around 7am every two hours until about 9.00pm, and w/end from around 9.00am every 2hrs. It will cost about 4 €.

Taxi:
From the airport to Murcia costs about 60 €.

Train:
You can take a taxi to Torrellano train station (very close to the airport, about 6€). From there you can catch a train (3.50€, 1hr 20 mins). They leave from around 6.00 am every 1 hrs until about 22.00 and every 2hrs at weekends.
Then you can get Totana from Murcia (45 mins.) every hour.
